I have an anubias that I want to make into 2 plants.

The rhizome is about 1.5inch long & has leaves on either side but not the middle. I am thinking of cutting it in the middle.

Will this kill the plant?

Is this a good way to split the plant?

What about the roots - will this cause problems if more roots are on one side? The plant is tied with elastic to driftwood & not rooted to it.

that's how you do it. So long as you have rhizome and leaves on each new piece you should be okay. When I set up my new tank, I accidentally broke a chunk of rhizome off the end of one of my existing plants, so I planted it separately. They're all doing well so far.

awesome!!!!!

thanks...being a newbie to plants im worried about killing them LOL

I am wondering how will I know if my plants are having a problem? Right now my cabomba are (in QT) not standing as straight as they were yesterday - the top is flopped over slightly...im not sure what that means.
The hornwort seems ok but not as bright green as it was a few days ago...

starting to worry a little
