I just purchased a 90 gallon Oceanic bowfront along with an Eheim Pro 3 2075 with an inline Hydro 300W heater. I chose A T5 48" light. I'll be setting up a fresh water tank and will have it installed in our family room 16 feet from the window but the room is quite bright. I am concerned about algae and green water so I'm considering a UV sterilizer. I've read lots of threads so far. I'm leaning to using a seperate pump for the sterilizer and possilby not running it continuously. The other option is in-line but I already have the heater in-line and don't want to impact flow rate too much. Does anyone have any experience they'd like to share? Thanks.

A bright room is different than direct sunlight. You might have an algal bloom to start with, but once the tank has matured I doubt you'll have more issues provided you don't have the tank on all the time (and don't have poor water conditions - as in overly nutrient rich).

IMO a UV sterilzer isn't worth running 'just because' you might have an issue.
