Whats some experience ya'll have with them? I got a small one today, roughly 2" in length. The people at the pet shop said they are one of the more timid chiclids, only being semi-aggressive for there size but they said they have seen some, not many but some that were actually half way aggressive. Mine was stuck in a 20 gallon when I got him so he a lot happier now. He is neat but I would like to know a few things about them. I also heard it is better to feed brine shrimp because blood worms and cause bloating in them and kill them.

Here's a bit about them and what they can be housed with.

Ok, it don't say anything about Angel fish but I am sure they can be housed with them right? I got about quarter sized ones and they get along just fine now.

Severums are said to be able to live in community tanks quite often. But they are cichlids so can always be unpredictable as to how friendly yours might be. I don't know about angels, tho. You can always try them and see and be prepared to move them out.

Lol, they get along right now, as a matter of fact, they stay together, all three of them.

I had a pair of severums. When i noticed them exibiting breeding behavior i got all excited. The next day, i found the female dead at the bottom of the tank with her bottom jaw ripped off. I would like to see if i can get another female, but its soooo hard to sex them when they are young. This hikari cichlid gold that i feed them really helps to bring out their colors early.
I have mine with tiger barbs, corys, and a rubber lipped pleco, and i have had no problems with them.

I would get New Life Spectrum if you can find it. I got Hikari Cichlid gold for lack of anything better to feed them. It is a really good food though.

Your severums stripes show better than mines, but mine has the squiggles on the face, and i cant see any on yours. I think yours is a female. How big is it?

Ok, man it is a pretty one, well compared to the other ones at the pet shop, he/she looked the best. They all looked good but this one had a better color to me.
