Found a baby hiding in the rocks from the fish, managed to get him into the breeder tank. Looked all over but couldnt find any other babys. Should I of seen alot of babys or is finding one lucky survivor common? If not I'm gonna name him Lucky :19:

Thanks, this is the second time recently this has happened. I'm just happy I could save it this time.

You found a neon tetra fry. It seems unlikely that the other fish didn't eat the egg.

I had a baby Neon about 6 months ago - talk about a fish named lucky he was born in a community tank with Loaches, Sharks, Cories, Neons, Mixed Tetras, and an African Butterfly Fish - not only that but I never even noticed him till he was about 1/4 inch long so he never got any special food or anything!

Thats my philospophy with my guppy fry. If they make it in the main tank, cool. More food for my severum. If they dont make it, ill wait a week and get some more.

At the Petsmart here in Vegas they have a deal 5 Neons for 5 bucks. There was a baby floating in the bag when I bought them, guess I got 6 for 5 bucks :19:

Firstly, on reading your thread title, let me say, I am so so glad you woke up this morning:19: .

You are really on a roll with the fry, excellent.

I have read that mollies (and other livebearers) can continue to have batches of fry for some time after breeding, they somehow store the sperm, maybe some more knowlagable members can shed more light on this if it is true?

This same thing happend to me about a week or so ago! It is so awesome. Mine are Mouth breeders though. It was pretty cool to find the little guy. Just one though. I think I have another female pregnant though so he/she could have a lot of brothers and sisters if I can put her in a breeder tank at the right time.....

Congrats!!!!
