This has got to be one of the best vids I have seen on utube. This oscars owner puts there hand in tank whilst the oscar swims around it and wants a pat and a tickle on the head, LOL.

one of my most favoritest songs ever :)
i wish i could pet a fish like that.
i cousin used to have a big oscar that he could pet... if he was quick.
but it was mean, so never put my hand in tank.
i always wanted to pet the koi in the fountain at the mall.

one of my most favoritest songs ever :)
Its Isreal Kamakawiwoole, it should be one of EVERYONES favorite songs. (its one of mine).
I heard a story about these people who would put a plastic cat toy with a bell inside of it in the tank when they fed their oscar. He began to realize that the ringing bell ment food. Soon, they could leave the ball inside the tank. The oscar would jump up and hit the ball whenever he was hungry.
Thats one of the many reasons i want an oscar.

Over here in NZ some fishermen actually catch trout useing a similar method. They call it tickling for trout and catch them bare handed. Do they do that other places too i wonder?

Its called noodling in america, except you dive down and stick your hand in a hole, and try to get a catfish to bite it.

Lucky me I actually get to see the videos now!! :19:
That was really awesome!! :c3: If I were to try that with my own oscar I would probably get bit as he knows if I have my hand in the tank it's either to clean it or hand feed him worms and such!! But I love him anyway!! :luxlove:

my buddy's oscar is about a foot long now. He has had him for 7 years. He will do the same thing all day. I think its just cause he is too lazy to mind.

wouldn't it be easier if he just took the fish out to pet it?

Doesnt touching fish ruin the slime layer? If not mine lets me pet him when he's in a good mood.

Doesn't look very good for the fish, but it's a cool video. The music fits well.

My oscar named Oscar squirms sometimes when I pet him other times he likes it. He's really smart too, whenever I go to see him he opens his mouth like he smiles, he can remember things for more than 3 seconds. :D

i'm from Honolulu, but living is SF Bay Area for pretty much all my life.
i was born in Tripler. and still have lots of relatives there so i go back every few years. i used to spend all my summer vacation there when i was a kid. most of my aunties all live in the Kalihi area. actually just 2 blocks away from the Bishop Museum. i love it there. everyone should be so lucky to visit at least once. i've rolled through Waipahu a few times too. whenever i go back now with my gf, we pretty much just drive around the island every day and take in all the local spots. good stuff :D

haha yeah exactly right there.
from my aunties living room window you can see the kamehameha school up the hill, and from her front door you can see the crest of punchbowl :). and all my cousins go/went to farrington high school. and my little nieces n nephews go to the elementary school (i forget the name) right accross the street from the mcdonalds. when we were kids my cousins and i used to always walk to the Crack Seed store over there (where mcdonalds is now) and buy mini shave ice for 25cents! lol, 25cents you'd think i was talking decades ago, but it was only like 15 years. i'm 28 years old now btw. and pretty much every free day we had, one of my aunts or uncles would take us to ala moana beach. man those were the days. beach, sand, sun, radio, and plate lunch. spam musubi and chicken katsu is the best.
hahah sorry you guys for derailing this thread :P
