Festivum fins

I had to move my 55g aquarium over the week-end and one of my Festivum ended up with a damaged ventral fin. Anyone had experience with them growing back? I will post a pic if I can get one.

Sure haven't. You think the net got him? Hopefully he'll be OK. Is he swimming alright?

I think it's a she. She's swimming fine and is otherwise well. She just looks a little odd now.

Depending on how close to the base the ventral broke off, it should grow back fine. It may grow back shorter if there was damage to the base.

Not a festivum, but my gourami's feelers were both nipped off when my nic decided to use her as a punching bag. They were each nipped about 1 cm from the base and they grew back just as long as ever, though there's a little bit of a deviation where the tissue grew back. Obviously she is not in that tank anymore.

I moved both my Festivum to a smaller tank. I hope this will help.
