is all purpose sand okay?

i put all purpose sand from home depot into my tank yesterday. Should i syphon that out and put play sand in there? Or does it not matter? thanks

It should be fine as long as you washed it extreamly well before you put it in.

thanks. i rinsed it out about 5 times. My tanks is very cloudy though. HOpefully itll clear up.

Give it time. It should settle. If i doesn't, do large water changes until it does.

Playsand is a coarser sand I think but the all purpose is probably fine. The playsand is said to be sanitized because it's used for childrens areas, as well.

Do several water changes to clear it up but it helps a lot to lay a plastic bag in the tank when you fill it. And make sure your filter tubes are up at least 3 inches from the bottom. Make sure sand settles good before turning on your filters.
