I added 6 blue discus 24 hours ago.Just wondering how long before they start coming out to the front of the tank and feeding.One or two get brave and come out but then they go to the back of the tank.Is this normal?

Sorry,no pictures yet.They are in an 85 gallon with 6 young angels and neons.Angels are not harassing them,water paramaters are fine just very shy.

discus are funny. it could be tomorrow or next week. is your tank decorated?
they will adjust in time. nothing to worry about.

The tank has plants and bogwood but they seem to prefer to hide behind it.I have kept discus years ago and remember a similar problem but cant remember haw long it went on for.

Discus can be weird. Like 3dees said, it could be 10min from now, it could be 10 days. Keeping the light off will aid your discus in adjusting without as much pressure.

Was wondering - is your water soft or med, or hard? pH can change easily with soft/very soft water and the x-fer might have stressed them because pH issues even though the temps matched. If so, no big deal but could take awhile to get them happy again. If it keeps up, some salt might help but only if their hidding lasts a few days. Otherwise, lots of clean fresh water as often as possible with a good temp 82- 86 (can set a little higher to make them more hungry if again, and after a few days has passed, first.) Good luck.
