yeah I saw it thank you for posting it:ssmile:
the one in the link looks very similar, and I do see that many of the spots can run together and look like splotches.
Im just not sure if that is the same thing though. Im gonna keep looking. Thanks!

Definately a sailfin,as there are lined and spotted varieties.

Where did you find the fish, and how much did it cost? Inexpensive pleco's are almost always common or sailfins. Pretty little pleco, but liable to outgrow your tank rather quickly.

I got him at the lfs. And yes, definitely a sailfin. Im guessing probably a common pleco. Guess I need a bigger tank hehe

I have a sailfin as well who is nearing that size of "too big for the 10 gallon" - will be upgrading soon to a 38, 45, or maybe a 55 gallon. I'd say my guy is 5.5" - 6" long now. My son named him "Speedo". Count Chocula is a great name...

A 38 or a 45 wont be big enough for that guy youve got...and a 5 wont be big enough for long. I'm thinking about looking into at least a 100 when he outgrows this one, and Ive heard thats still probably not big enough.

hey cass, sorry i just got home from work so couldnt respond with there reply, but looks like she agrees with you

"pleco is small, it looks like a fancy common, also known as a "marble", sail fin, Highfin etc. They give them all sorts of fun names... but to me it looks like a common. If i had a picture of it stuck to the glass and could see the teeth I would know for sure.

Oh and this is the best pleco forum in the world as well as an extensive L# cat-e-log http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...de=l&thumbs=16

hope that helps

hey no worries I appreciate you trying to help me out here thumbs2:

I'll see what I can do to get a good picture, but this guy is so elusive right now I can hardly find him most of the time.

I'll take a look at the link you posted. Thanks!
