Hi, hoping someone can help me.

A couple of weeks ago I bought home a pair of Blue Rams (approx 2"). Their colours at the shop were quite dull, so I couldn't really tell them apart, but the LFS guy said they are a male/female pair.

Well, they have now staked out opposite ends of the tank and butt heads whenever they come into each others line of sight (the longer finned one is the more aggressive), although they are not inflicting any actual damage that I can see. I suspect that I have two of the same sex - and from the information I have found, I am thinking females.

Can someone please tell me I am wrong as I really like both of them.

Can you post pictures of them? It would help trying to sex them.

Here is a link that should help with the ID:

look for the pink...lol. Sorry, but usually, the females are rounder, and at maturity, they have a pinkish color to the abdomen. I have 3 males, and 3 females. Also, look at the dorsal fins. The males have generally 2 black pointed spikes, whereas the females have one.
