Hi,
I switched the light on in my tank this morning to find one of my guppy's tail fin is partly missing, it wasn't like it when i went to bed, I think one of my other fish may have attacked it.
Does fin rot take time to do damage or could it be fin rot?
Cheers
Neil

Well the pictue is a little blurry but it looks more like agression then fin rot to me. Does the fin have a white/clearish edge that wasnt there previously?

Hi,
No there is no edge around the fin.

Fin rot and biten tail fins are two different things. Unless too much is gone, they will regrow.

That doesn't look like fin rot, but if the two fish are still in the same tank there may still be agression. I'd seperate them

If you are sure that the fin was OK last night and the damage was done in that short of a time it would have to be aggression.

In my experiences with fin rot it happened pretty slowly. That damage does look like he might have been in a fight. What other fish do you have in your tank?
