View Full Version : any ideas why my plants are not doing good?

so i moved my micro sword and glosso and baby tears to my 6g from my 10g
in my 10g they were doing amazing now in my 6 they look like crap
both tanks are in front of windows temps about the same ferts substrate and 12hrs of light a day and i dont understand why there roting now the plants still in my 10g are doing great.
also i pulled up some of the plants in my 6g to look at there roots and there white new growth so this all doesent make sense to me
got any ideas?

It was the change of tank that shocked the plants. Since there's new root growth, the plants will recover in time and produce new leaves.

Patience is a very valuable commodity in the planted tank world.
You can replace it with money, but time is usually a better investment.

Yes, just leave them be. Eventually the old leaves will start to decay (skeltonize, turn brown, etc.), and they should be clipped off with very sharp scissors near the base of the plant. Clipping near the base leaves much less of the leaf stem and thus little or nothing to decay.
