Ok so... did a little re-arranging with today's water change and I found some eggs. Angelfish have exhibited no spawning behavior, they were found on the underside of the driftwood so I'm inclined to think they are not tetras or Danios. They are definitely white in color, which eliminates what I've heard of kuhli loach eggs
They are white... and kind of pointish... as seen here (I zoomed in quite a bit to try and show their shape. The smaller flecks are just substrate particles)

My pest snails lay theirs in little blobs clumped together primarily so I am thinking assassin snails. Anyone care to confirm?

Your driftwood has ich, treat with salt or malachite green.
I am fairly sure assasin snails are livebearing snails, and those do look like baby snails to me. Are they moving?

I've found multiple sources (including a lengthy post here) saying Clea Helena/ Anentome helena (same snail, alternate name) are egg laying snails.

The spots have a distinct nucleus to them, which didn't translate well in the photo. In reality they are about the size of a pin-head (the metal kinds not the plastic ball kind)
As for ich on the wood... I will look into it, I haven't had ich in over a month and there has been no sign on my fish. Wouldn't it be odd to attach itself only to the driftwood?

The ich was a joke :P
You are correct, they do lay eggs! Guess I was thinking of rabbit snails...

Bad Scrup! ya got me! D=
I usually just take my rocks and wood out of the tank when I re-arrange but when I saw those I decided not to. I am hoping my turning the wood over didn't damage them if they are still viable.

From the pic those look like assassin snail eggs. They are squarish and look like little pods (think shark eggs, just much smaller). They lay one at a time.

Thanks Lab! I thought that was most likely. I was a bit surprised at how many were under there, but then again... I did see one baby already so I know its a happening scene.
Here's a pair doing their best interpretations of that Neil Diamond single "Love on the Rocks"
