Whoa, snail issue

I just had to pull apart my RENA and do a complete cleanup of everything. In the matter of 3 weeks, I got a WICKED infestation of Ramshorn snails in there. I dont even know how they managed to live with such current going on in there. I smooshed them and fed them to Sweetpea, but I couldnt believe how many snails were in there. Im assuming the snail shells arent very good for impeller in there are they? I love snails but I was grossed out to see how many were in there. ALL IN THREE WEEKS!!!! yuck....

Prefilters are a wonderful thing.

If you keep collecting them in the filter and squooshing them...soon you won't have a snail issue anymore! :14:

My main tank has only about 6-8 big ones in there, everyone else becomes fish food. I just cant believe how many were in there. I looked down into the water on the bottom of the filter and there must have been at least 50 in there!!!!! They werent huge, but not small either. Crazy!!!
