I am working on starting a crab tank either fiddler or RCC and i was wondering what plants might be good in the lightly brakish water. ALso there will be a dwarf puffer possably. I was considering mangroves or something like that but my main consern is if they will just eat everything organic i put in there that cant get away. Anyone know?

hey sorry i posted this twice but idk how to take the duplicate down.

Onion plants do good in brackish but do not put a dwarf puffer in with crabs unless you plan on useing the crabs as food. Black mollys are an option though.

The puffers will go after the crabs? i thought that was a possablity but wasnt sure i was more worried about the crabs going after the puffers. Will crabs not go after the onions?

Not that I've seen. If they start to rot then they will but that's just because there scavengers. And yes the puffer will go after the crabs. The mainly carnivores and like meaty foods thats why the have beaks, so they can break snail and crab shails.

hmm ok well puffer is out then. i knew they would go after snails but thanks for the crab attack heads up. if i just keep my plants healthy will they stay away from eatting them, also considering that they are well feed of coarse.

If there well fed and the plants are well maintained then yes they should stay away from them.
