So I've been reading around on the internet trying to find the scientific name of Java moss since my LFS only sells plants by sc. name. I was wondering if the smart people here on AC knew what it was because I've found Taxiphyllum Barbieri and Vesicularia Dubyana. Which is the real sc. name?

Taxiphyllum barbieri is the accepted scientific name that I know for it...

V. dubyana is the name I've always seen, but there may be more than one species of "java moss" lumped together under the common name (though not as bad as "ghost shrimp"...)

Mosses have to be specifically identified under a microscope. So, if it looks like java moss consider it as java moss. If it looks like willow moss, then it is. ;-)
