Im trying to identify all the plants I have in my tank so that I can decide on whether or not I should replace the bulbs that came in the hoods...

So Im wondering, does this look like mondo grass to you? because if it is will go plant it outside lol

They look curiously non aquatic.In any case they are planted to deeply.Lift them up till you can see the crowns where all the leaves come together.Most aqua plants should only have there roots covered.I dont know what they are though.Where did you get them?

@Cassie---nope, definitely not an onion plant

@Smaug--whoops! ok I will definitely pull her up a bit. Maybe thats why my plants dont do as well as they should...Im burying them too deep?

This is the picture that is making me wonder if this is a mondo grass....very close resemblance...and in my picture it looks like a brighter green than it does in natural light. Its actually closer to the picture on the link.

Yeah that's mondo grass. It's sold by most retail pet chains but isn't actually an aquatic plant, very annoying. Eventually it will just rot and die. Toss it into a pot and keep it well watered and it makes a nice carpet for potted plants around the house though.

@Smaug--I think I might just do that lol if they wont exchange it for me I guess Ill have to take that as another lesson in this hobby...don't buy something without researching it first

@DrNic--thats a really good idea!

It sucks because I really like the way this plant looks in my tank. I was actually gonna grab some more next time I went down to Petsmart lol oh well...

Thanks for all your help everyone!thumbs2:
