My new baby 1 1/2 inch oscar Sweet Pea isnt eating. She is just swimming around, but hasnt shown any interest in anything. Ive tried her NLS Cichlid food, blood worms, and brine shrimp.
I know, I know, eventually she will get hungry and eat and she will eventually.
She just so little, I dont want her to get skinny or unhealthy!!!
All my parameters are fine, nothing of nothing, fully cycled aged tank.
Is she just being a stubborn toddler and not eating?

Did she eat when you first got her, or hasn't she eaten at all? I've heard oscars are notorious for sulking when they're moved or their tank is changed, so it may just be that.

LOL~! Im relieved! I was thinking "OMG Im a horrible Oscar mommy if she dies from starvation", yet I forgot the little bugger already nailed her first fish. LOL! Do they normally take a break for a day after eating a big dinner?

oscars do not need to eat everyday, although it is hard not to feed a begging fish. When the oscar gets larger it is better for it's lifespan to feed less frequently, being a predator and all.
LOL! Do they normally take a break for a day after eating a big dinner?Absolutely, And you're going to have to be tough wrt resisting the begging. Especially after she learns who it comes from.

They stare at you with those big fish eyes, put on a dazzling performance, and follow your hand from one end of the front glass to the other. It's almost like a new puppy dog.
Just remember, over feeding does more damage than underfeeding.
Oh, another clue would be if they nip at your fingers or hand when you put it in the tank. At that point, you're food too!

Lol, Yep waving their fins at you, Tail waggin' [More of a 'body wag' really]
She will be a messy eater [spews everywhere lol] but table manners are not part of the package with an Oscar.:hmm3grin2orange:
