Does this stand have enought strength to hold a 100gallon, 60" x 20" x 24" tank that weights about 1200lb?
The cyans are 4" x 4" and everything else is 4" x 2".

Yea that looks like it would work fine. My 125 stand that was made for that aquarium is not that beefy. It never hurts to go overkill.

If it's glass, the top as you have it can be open like you have it. If acrylic, the top should be a solid piece. Looks good.

That will be more than enough. Factory made stands are not that bulky and they do just fine holding that same size tank.

Actually that tank is around 125gallons, my 100G is 48x20x24 and my 150G is 72x20x24 :11:
Definitely looks sturdy enough to me tho...much better than comercial stands.

Nice design, that will do the job.

That's basically the same design that I have used when building stands for my last two 90 gallon tanks. Only different sizing for a different tank
It will be more than strong enough

It'll work well!
Make sure you use glue and screws,no nails.
If it develops any side to side sway then a sheet of plywood joining the posts at the back will stiffen it right up.

That design will easily hold the weight, just be sure that the floor it will be sitting on will handle it too.
I'd probably add a crossbeam to the middle back just for safe measure. I do however overbuild the heck out of all of my projects so that might not be necessary!

Side to side and front to back racking is all you'd have to worry about. That can be completely prevented by ugly diagonal bracing, or gluing a back panel and side panels on. Even 3mm plywood paneling will be thick enough to make it tree solid.

You could probably put several cars on top of that without any problems.
4x4's can hold a few tons of weight each IIRC.

It looks fairly sturdy. Though, as others have pointed out sway could be a concern. Plywood or diagonal corner supports to hold it firm would be all that might be needed. diagonals don't need to be very large(1x2s would suffice) just enough to hold the angle, as the triangle is the strongest shape in nature.
