I had 23 of those buggers and never saw any aggressive from them ever. Some claim otherwise but I think those two you have should be fine.

Is because you had 23 of them Hobbsy. Most people tend to keep less than six of them, which is why they have had the reputation of being fin nippers for so long. It's the same with tiger barbs; you have at least a dozen, they spend their time concerned with each other instead of tankmates.

That said, I wouldn't keep either species in whatever numbers with fish with flowing fins like angels or slow swimmers like goramies.

I have 3 black skirts in my tank - the only time I see any aggression is at feeding time - other than that they have been leaving all the other fish alone.

I have 5 harly rasboras in a 30 gallon community with 5 neon tetras, 3 black neons, 2 flame tetras and no one is aggressive to one another, even the 2 Australian rainbows that are each at least 3 times the size of each of my tetras. I personally would support the original idea of black skirts with harlys.

They're very aggressive towards each other, not other fish. However, they are baby killers >:( 100 baby rams, gone in a few days.

Edit: Also, before anyone critisizes me, I used to have 6 BST's, and the three I have now killed the others.
