Would tying a sword, val, or a crypt to a rock with fishing line damage the plant at all?

Trying to think of a way to keep my plants in the ground, but the pleco's have a different idea. the plants are growing amazing with the new lighting, but they just wont stay in the ground.

it can be trying to keep new plants rooted with fish such as plec.In the past I have gotten small 50 cent size pcs of stone and piled them around the bases of new plants to keep them down.

Yeah, I've tried to bury them the best I can, but since I can't quite reach the bottom of the tank without my head going underwater, I am stuck with digging a hole with a stick, jamming the plant in, and trying to knock rocks back into the hole before the plant floats back up.

oh I have a pair. The problem is the substrate. it is a mix of sand, small pebbles, and pea gravel.

I need a shovel to go with the tongs is what the problem is. hmm...

Might make one this weekend actually.
