In this Article I will explain how you can use software
to help you visualize and build any type of Aquarium set up
you can think of and the best part is that it's totally free.

What you'll need.

Either Blender or Google SketchUp

=====================================
Google SketchUp
http://sketchup.google.com/

I do not use this program but I have looked at it
and from what I've seen it pretty easy to learn
and lots and lots of people use it.

=====================================

Blender
At least version 2.49.2 (2.49b)
http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/

You will also need Python 2.6.6
http://www.python.org/download/releases/
Python is free and safe. Blender 2.49 needs it to do
certain things.

NOTE!
There are newer versions that you may like better
that may not require you to install Python.

All versions

Most recent as of 1/25/11 is 2.56beta.

What is Blender?

Blender is a FREE open source 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animation
and rendering program. It can make just about anything imaginable in 3D
on your computer. This and other similar types of programs are used all the
the time to make things like buildings, cars, and even spaceships.
You name it and someone has probably already made it.

Why would I use such a program?

Why you would use this program is so you can make a
realistic mock up or prototype design for an Aquarium set up.
Example: you would use the program to model your fish tank
and fish tank stand.

Is everything free as in free like the air we breath?

Yes and also there are no viruses, spyware, malware, pop-ups
or any other malicious software included.

I have been using Blender for over ten years and have never
had a problem so it's total safe and the program is constantly being
improved and up dated by programmers.
