Hi All,
I have had 3 different platy have fry in the last 3 days, The first 2 had fry with no colour, The one today has had 6 so far and they are all orange in colour (see Photo about 3 minutes old ). Is this normal or is something wrong.
Thanks for all your help I love this site.
Neil.
Livebearer fry can be all kinds of color combinations. I have 18 swordtail fry that don't really have much color yet. Some develop color as they get older. Nothing to worry about!

Sory meant to ask which is the best food to feed the fry, I have Interpet Liquifry and TetraMin Baby, I am using the Liquifry at the moment should i use both or stick with the Liquifry for the time being.
Cheers

Since you already have them you can alternate to give them a variety. I personally just used finely crushed flake food with good results.

Best? Live artemia. You won't believe the difference until you see it :)
TetraMin Baby will do just fine. No need to use Liquifry for platy, but they will eat that aswell.
Most fry foods will do and brine shrimp is the best. I'm feeding my molly fry crushed flake and powdered fry food.
For the record, brine shrimp and Artemia is the very same thing, around here we use the scientific genus name for some reason.

I got a bunch of Platy fry a while back and couldn't get anything else so I had used the crushed up flake also - they did fine. They're about 6 months old now (almost ready to move to a real tank so I can convert my 10 gallon back to Brackish!)
