Hi All,
I need to be able to transport my fish (tetras, plecs, corys) to a new property. The journey time could be up to 4 hours, excluding the emptying and refilling of the aquarium.
Any advice, hints, tips or warnings would be gratefully received.

when i moved i used buckets to keep the gravel in, and a rubbermaid container for the fish. i have my car heated up as it was last winter when i had to move them and i had a digital thermometer with a string probe thing i used to make sure the temp was ok. my move was less than 10min so i didnt have a problem with anything at all.
if its realy cold where you live make sure that you have the new plce heated up, have those heat packs on hand for transport, and have the fish be the last thing into the car and first thing into the house

4 hours is not too long for a fish, but extra precautions would be cycling a sponge filter and purchasing a battery operated air pump (available at most fishing stores). Rubbermaid tote is a good idea also. Fasting your fish for a few days prior will help keep ammonia and other waste levels down during transport. Best of luck with your move! :fish:
