My mystery snail got hurt during a move from one tank to another and the very soft edge of his shell got damaged what should I do? Will it grow back? Does it grow? Will he be okay?

It will grow back if it is only the edge of the shell. It wont grow perfect but should be ok. Mine lost a huge chunk of shell randomly, im not sure if it fell or what. It is healing pretty good and faster than I thought. Keep pristine water conditions, and make sure you are supplementing calcium. Good luck!!!

If there are other creatures in the tank you may want to move it to an isolated tank depending on how large the chunk is.

Did just a corner/edge break off a little, or is there a large chunk missing?

Try supplementing it's diet with some form of calcium as well, to encourage a better shell in the future.

I agree it should grow back, just make sure you are providing plenty of calcium. Large holes are another story but i have seen people repair them using old shells before.

What kind of snail is it? Apple snails for example, can only replenish their shells. It won't grow back. If you lose large chunks, they're there forever.

However, if the hole occurs at the spiral, it should be safe. The ones towards the opening are the most dangerous.

Its like the very edge and it was very small but now he is acting weird. he is trying to dig under the decorations and barely comes out of his shell is this because of the damage. He is an apple snail.
