Hi,

Just thought I'd share some pictures of my Plec and ask some questions at the same time.

Does anyone know what type it is? I would love to find a companion for it and try breeding them.
Which leads on to my next question... how do you sex them? I'm guessing mines female but it's a half educated guess.

Now for pictures:

the head shape and fin coloring look slightly different between the two (but plecos are one of the species im no good at id-ing)

also if i had photoshop with me we would have another banana eel thread going on right now...;)

At least this OP actually attached some photos, unlike the eel poster who neglected to do so.

I'm no good at pleco IDs, but it's a neat looking fish. It looks similar to a mango pleco, although the yellow bands on the fins have spots on them... I don't know if that's significant or not.

Here's a gallery of mango pleco pictures:

thanks for you comments guys =)

I'm trying to get some better pictures by enticing it out with bloodworms.

But the greedy git grabbed the lot and buggered back out of sight >_>
