i looked up how to build them and i understand it all the question i have is
is it hard to match the amount of water going out with the amount getting pumped back it?
cuz it can cause some major probs if its not proply lined up.
i see it now water every where or im sleepen and my pump is putting water into the tank faster then its going out and all i hear is the pump maken this horrible grinding noise.
got and tips for this things to do not to do?

You could try a slightly oversized drain line slightly to handle more flow than what your return pump is capable of. Then put a valve on the drain line so you can fine tune the flow to match your return pump.

The other option (if you pump moves more water than you drain line) would be to put a bypass line off of your return line with a valve to reduce the flow back inot your tank without putting any back-pressure on your pump.

I hope I have explained well.

if its an overflow in a drilled tank you shouldn't have an issue.

if its oversized for the return you will never get to the point where there is more going into the tank than going to the sump.

Also if the overflow is at the surface as oppsed to a below surface syphon then if the pump fails it will only allow a certain amount of water to leave the tank before the water level drops below the overflow and stops draining.

You need to run the sump relitavely empty the first time and turn off the pump to see how full it gets. After this you can add more and try again till you reach your level where you have as much water as possible but are also fail safe.

Hope that makes sense.
