I have looked for this somewhere and have not found it so I am here to ask. How do I clean salt build up off of a used tank that I would like to use for freshwater fish? I am hoping someone will have an easier way than scrubbing the life out of it.
Thanks.

Try some vinegar. At the very least it'll soften it up and make it easier to scrub. If you can let it soak a little while, it should work better.

If you're up to it, hydrochloric acid will work even better. Just be very careful with it and do it in a well ventilated area, preferably outside.

You might have to do it repeatedly. But it is good stuff. You can also use a razor on it carefully for some areas that the salt wont dissolve from...
