I got my 55 gallon and it is running as I type. Got's a 75 gallon penguin biowheel filter and it is so quiet!!!! 200 Watt stealth heater and a 20-60 gallon dual air pump. Sand bottom and I didn't put to much decor seeing as I am gonna mostly have silver dollars and Angel fish. I did put several plants and a few rocks though.
YAY!!!
Where are our pictures???

I got some but it looks awful because I don't have a background on my tank, in other words, you see all the wires and crud.
...we can see beyond the tubing...post one anyway...
...or put some blue constuction paper on the back for the picture...

Wires dont bother us.
I love penguins too. I have the 100 w/biowheel, and it is one of the quietest filters i have.

Ignore the wires and such in the background.

Looks good! I like the dark pebbles scattered about in the sand, it gives it a really natural look. Great work!

My dad did it and it looked good except he used brown rock instead of black so he used brown pebbles. I decided on the lava rock that was real cheap, notice CHEAP. I was wanting a submarine in it to throw it off and make it a little more interesting but I don't like the idea of spending 40$ on one for it.thumbs2:

Just keep it natural. It works really well for that particular tank.
I prefer it natural too...I think it looks just fine...
...er, is that a door behind the tank?

Looks good! Really natural
Uhm the only thing that worries me is that the tank extends about an inch over the table on each side. that stresses the tank and could lead to the cracking

So how can I fix this? Cut a board and put it under the corners? No way I can lift it. It is 3/4 of an inch off each side. That is a wall, it used to be a huge room and we built a wall in the middle to make two regular sized rooms.

You need to drain it, and get a bigger stand.

Getting a new stand would be ideal - but if you can't
Take some 1 X 1 pine and attach it to the sides of the table with wood glue. If you can swing the stand around a little bit drill some starter holes and add some screws for support. (Probably easiest when doing a water change)

In agreeance with the others, the dark pebbles sure add something! Well done!
