well, right now i'm sitting in the Koru Lounge (Air NZ business Class Lounge even though we're travelling on Thai) waiting for the plane to leave which is in about an hours time.
Checked in at the Thai first class check-in cause dad is a Star Alliance gold member. It is so great to be able to go straight through security in less than 10 mins rather than having to wait in the economy check-in.
Will post some pics up when i get back
I've travelled business class and coach...
Business is way more comfortable of course (LUV the bigger seats)...but I've met the nicest people in economy...

lol, i dont do economy any more. some people that sit beside you are WEIRD. one time to vancouver island i had some buff army guy next to me. since westjet has tv's on all seats, theres a channel switcher on all the armrests. the buff guy had his arm on mine and i couldnt find a way to nicely say something, so i shut up and when drinks came by he moved
(Air NZ business Class Lounge even though we're travelling on Thai)
They are both members of the Star Alliance, so you get access to both lounges and acculmulate/redeem frequent flier miles.
Have a great trip, Phuket is beautiful!
Personally, I'd rather fly coach than business/first. I fly about 4 times a year between Western Canada and Germany, so I couldn't afford to do it not flying coach. But I do get free upgrades quite frequently.

Right now I'm sitting in an internet cafe here in Phuket. just met some of dads friends.
Flight was really nice. we came over in business class which was very nice. got on the plane and had a meal then drifted off to sleep. woke up and had another meal and went back to sleep again. Woke up 30mins before we landed. Flight home is going to be quite good as we are travelling in the first class cabin which has fully lie flat seats.

Had a good night out in Patong beach with shopping and being chatted up by the she-boys :malelovies: . Went to the Simon Caberet show and youy wouldn't even know that they were all guys. Some were 'chopped' and had implants to seem more 'feminine'.
Dad is about to hire a private charter so that we can go out to some of the islands Such as Phi Phi island and do some diving, snorkelling and fishing. Also we are staying at the Sheraton Grande Laguna and just down the beach there is restaurant call the Lotus where you can play god with the creatures in the tanks. There was a tank full of 10-12" mantis shrimp for some rediculously cheap price - got some photos. I ate about 3 of them. Apparently they are deep fried alive to keep them fresh :c11: .
Anyway, will update you guys later on.

Long flights in business class...great, really great...
When I flew over to Seattle a few years ago, I had a guy next to me who was into Jesus, or whatever. I mean he thought he was holier than holy...geesh, he talked and talked and prayed and prayed....great feeling, so safe and secure....
And when we where over the Atlantic in the middle of nowhere, the Captain asked, if there was a doctor on board.
Man I felt like being in an "Airport" movie....:ezpi_wink1:
But none the less, enjoy your time:ezpi_wink1:
Sounds like you're having fun! Enjoy! Post pictures too!

well. the holiday is nearing an end. we fly out tonight at 7.30pm (local Thai time).
I have some great diving photos that I took at Racha Yai off the southern coast off Phuket Island. I also did some diving with the sharks at the Siam Ocean World aquarium here in Bangkok.
Anyway. I look forward to getting on that plane tonight and can't wait to upload some pics for you guys.

On the way to thailand I was in the front row of business (just behind the wall from first) and on the way back to Auckland (on a 747-400) I was in 1st class in row 1A - right up in the nose. Ever so silent. Plus, the only people in this cabin were my family. 10 seats or so being occupied by 4 people

Well, if you can afford higher than economy, you should pay it. Business is well worth the money and you arrive refreshed and relaxed.
Also, the food is better :)
