I know alot of people get these in thier tanks because these bad boys hitch a ride on plants. However, i have not introduced a new plant into my tank for id say about 2 and half to 3 months. Never had the snails and magically i just saw one today. Seems very strange to me unless they have a gestation period of 3 months.

a lot of people dont like snails in their tank but, i personally love malaysian trumpet snails. i have them in all my tanks and and love them. they dont reproduce like crazy, and keep the sand stirred well in my one tank. its possible that you got them last time you introduced something and havent noticed them. i have (just a guesstimate) around 30. i changed my gravel over and sifted through to find all of them and ended up with a small handful. i never see more than 3 or 4 at a time, so its very possible they were overlooked

I think trumpet snails are livebearing snails.Do not no about gaestation, but they reproduce rapidly.Japanese trapdoor snails are almost alike.

they are live bearers but unless you overfeed consistently you will not be overrun with them.

i dont know how long they go between births though

ya i think i just must not have overlooked them earlier, they are very small but after a long an thorough look at my tank, i think i saw around 10 of them.

DOnt forget they are nocturnal so it would be easy to overlook one or two in the tank during the day. Its at night when the lights are out that they come out to play :)
