i was looking at my planted aquarium and then suddenly found something which resembles the description of hydra (i have never seen one before).its a colony with each around 1-1.5 mm having a cylindrical body and few small tenticals .Are they really hydra? What should i do with them?should i try to remove them?
there was something else (a worm)which was white thread like and moving like a snake, it was around 2 cm in length.what can it be?

Sounds like hydra to me. Not sure what the worm-like creature is. Are the fish behaving normally? Has anything changed in the tank recently?

The white threadlike worm could be planaria - I couldn't find any pictures that weren't blown way up (makes them look different).

Remove both from the tank. They could be harmful. The worm is not planaria. I have planaria. I've gotten all sorts of things with my plants one time. I also got those worm things.

I got the impression that he is describing something larger than planaria. Still not sure about that one.

I don't think I've seen them that big - but the white threadlike seemed to fit.
