My buenos aires tetras and tiger barbs seem to school together in one mixed group. There is no agression going on so no harm done, but is this normal?

Ditto, my clouds and neon glowlight tetras are buddies.

I have 2 bala sharks I am growing a bit to put in my 72 - my 2 black neons adore them. They follow them everywhere!
In my experience most school fish just sort of spread out in the tank when they feel really safe, and the different species totally mix. Even tetras and rasboras.
When in a tank with much larger or very active fish (angels or even a group of yoyo-loaches) they tend to go much closer together, and not mix so much. Not even neons and glowlights.
