I know this should be in the plant section, but I want a reply quickly, and I know I'll get it here =]. Has anyone had experience with plant fertilizers? Opinions?
My current foliage:
3 bundles of combomba, growing lovely
3 bundles of Firn, growing well
2 bundles of Java Fern, going so well saplings are forming....
Of course the box doesnt say how many watts my florescant bulb is... but its the all glass aquarium 29 gallon kit.... maybe someone knows????

nutrafin fertilizer is good. if its a single strip one bulb light, its probably only a 15 watt. if its 2 lights like 55g kits its 30 watts. most kits give you lights that only a few plants thrive with. often you have to go out yourself and get better lights

This is what I was reccommended from chrona. They are dry ferts. (ferts that come as a substance rather than a liquid)

I would say depending on how serious your plants are and how good of lighting you have you will only need some of the lesser stuff.
If you have better lighting and CO2 and good plants I would say dose trates, phosphates and pottasium.
18w sounds like the right size for a 29 gallon, if it is a T8 standard tube. It could also be 15w which is slightly shorter.
I use 3 x 18w tubes for my 110 liter tank (which is a close to 29 gallon as you get), and I consider this a little on the low side.
I reccomend the Tropica range of fertilizers (Tropica Aqua Care, was Tropica Master Grow until recently) . Don't know if they are avaiable where you are. With your current stock of plants a third of the recommended amount should do nicely. You might also want to consider adding a little iron, depending on the water you have in your area. 0.2 ppm is usually good number.

18w is the stock light that comes on a 29 g tank which is what I am assuming he has. If you want to have a really nice real planted tank I would highly reccommend a 24" FRESHWATER 65w compact flourescent light. They go for around $60 with the hood and stuff. Make sure it's freshwater though, not the reef 50/50 bulb stuff. Bigals online has the cheapest one I have found and its a coral-life brand.
This is what I am ordering tomorow night along with a RENA filstar XP2 canister:

Yes, thats what I was guessing on. They really come with only one tube?

Can't quite figure out what this one is. The picture looks like something of an open hood containing some U-shaped tube. The specifications on the page are a little .. vague.
* Are these tubes/lamps/bulbs hard to get in different variations?
* What is the profile of the stock 6700K tube?
* Does the tube compare to T5 or T8?
* Assuming the plants in the foreground have different needs than the tall ones in the background, would it really be good to use a single tube system?
* The hood doesn't cover the entire tank, does it?
* How do you mount this? Just place it on top, and leave the tank open?
Excuse my ignorance but I've never seen anything like this :)
