I just purchased a 30 gallon tank, the laminate molding around the bottom has a piece about 4 inches long cracked off. There is no damage to the silicone. Can this trim around the bottom be replaced? Is the tank usable as is? Thanks in advance for the responses

Exactly and you can always replace all rims for new ones if you want to.

unless you know what you doing ,you will break the glass. there a 50% chance of breaking your tank.

Only if the rims have a supporting function. The risk is low if they are purely decorative.
still thats a risk you will have to consider Scooter.

True but they can usually be cut loose using a razor blade that you hold against the glass. That way you don't risk damaging the slicon that keeps the aquarium from leaking.
If they however have been attached with a clue that can't be cut it can be a problem to remove them.
