I've been snooping around this forum from time to time over the last year or so, and figured it was about time I made my introduction.

Tropical freshwater have been my hobby since I hung around my fathers tanks back in the early 80's, though I had a good break after an accident with a first floor 85 gallon tank in 2000.

Since 2002 i've been gradually stepping up my hobby again, and currently have four smaller tanks in my apartment. A 50 gallon south-american, 33 gallon asian, 29 gallon livebeares and a 10 gallon multi-purpose glass tank for fry, quarantine etc.

I mostly hang around the Norwegian forums, but thought it would be nice to get some new impulses from Aquatic Community.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

Welcome to the forum. What do you have in your asian tank?

Lets see. Currently

3 x Beaufortia kweichowensis (hillstream loach)
- these are temporary residents, saved them from a tank where they were very unhappy living as dwarf plecos. While they seem happy enough in their current environment they really should have colder water and better waterflow.
6 x Crossocheilus siamensis (siamese algae eater)
2 x Puntius titteya (cherry barb)
10 x Trigonostigma heteromorpha (Harlequin rasbora)
4 x Botia almorhae (pakistani loach)
- Currently removing snails in the guppy tank, very effective and nicer than clown loaches imho - and much better suited for tanks smaller than 65 gallon.
1 x Trichogaster leerii (Pearl gourami)
- Looking for friends for this one, but they are in short supply at the moment.

On the plant side I still have a lot of south american and african plants. Suitable plants from Asia are hard to come by.

Currently in Bergen on the west coast. Near the Bergen Aquarium, you should all come visit sometime ;)

Welcome to AC! I've read some of your posts already and find them quite helpful. Glad to have you here.

BTW- you've peeked my interest with your mention of the 85 gallon accident.
