3 New Dawn Platy's

Hey Ya'll. I did a huge tank cleaning last night (LOTS of algae and cleaned all the decor) and I just got back from Petco and found 3 beautiful new fish. They're called Dawn Platy's. They are all white and seem to be getting along great with my Danio's! I'ma try to get some pics up asap of my fish tank and the fish!

So my 2 platy's hang around the top of the tank (top of water) near the heater. Sometimes they'll swim around but they always go back up there. Should I be worried or any suggestions on what to do?

How far at the top? Are they at the surface?

Does it look like they are having issues respirating? Like respirating quickly or very slowly?



My platy hang up near the top usually, they often dart around with each other and go into plants and caves though. I wouldn't worry too much, it is usually pretty obvious when fish are in distress and platy are pretty hardy in my experience.


There is not really much you can do either way other than a water change and waiting. If you want to be extra safe do the water change.
