Yes there are meat you should avoid ei all fatty meats. Beafheart is okey since that is a lean muscle but you should for example avoid pork.

Would Chicken Livers be ok to feed to the oscars?
05-05-2006, 05:28 AM
Yes but not to often. Liver is like the sewage plant of the body so it always contain less than healthy things ;-)
I would personally stay away from liver and instead choose other food types such as frozen shrimps you can by in your grocery store at a decent price.

well should i do any preperation for the shrimps such as boiling to get any bacteria of them ?
and with the liver would washing it help it in any way?

Washing the liver will not help.
Just defrost the shrimp and given them to your oscars. I prefer to use shell less shrimps. The shell improves color but can sometimes cause trouble for the fish.

Ever Since i started to feed my oscars the prawns theyve become more active and there colors are vibrant, but on my red tiger the small part of orange that he did have (like 6 spots) have dissapeared and all that remains is a black oscar with gold ring on his tail he looks awsome

Shrimps improve colors in all fish.

my black ghost eats the shrimp too and now he hs become very tame and playful towards me when i do somthing with the tank

you said that the shell will help improve the color so if i were to get my yabbies motl shell and crush it up and put it in with the oscars would that do the same thing also

Most likely yes. However the fish might cut them selves on the shell if you feed just shells.
