No idea, thinking its a marimo, but not too sure. It came tied to a coconut shell and I can't seem to get it to root to anything at all.

Any idea?

As a second to this, the store also had a variant of moss that they didn't want to give me, claiming it spread very rapidly, and this one did stick to things. Looked very similar to this, but not quite as thick. Any thoughts at all what these might be?

I realize it is probably a form of algae, but I still would not mind at all having some in my tank if I could find some info on it.
