Today I had to hear some very bad news
A very good friend of mine lost his mum today at 2.15pm (NZT). She had been battling breast cancer for many years and eventually beat it. However, later on the doctor's found that the cancer had crept into her bones and was incurable.
My mate is only 16 and his mum 47. It truly put a dampner on the day when the news broke.

Sorry to hear that, exactly the same thing happened to my mother inlaw, after having a breast removed, followed by 5 yrs of tests, she was given the all clear, only to pass away 4 yrs later very suddenly (6 weeks after being diagnosed) from bowel and liver cancer, trouble is, they only scan the breast area to give the all clear, I feel this is wrong, and here are 2 cases even in this small community that prove it is wrong.
My father also passed away from lung cancer suddenly (only a week after we found he had it) in 2004, it is a very sad a cruel disease

So sorry to hear that Unleashed. I too just recently lost someone to cancer, my father. It is a horrible disease that steals too many people. Our American Legion Auxiliary also recently lost a dear member from breast cancer that did the same as your friend's mom.....came back later elsewhere. She left behind a 12 year old daughter and 2 adult children.

Sorry to hear of your friends mother. 47 is much too young to die. Just be a good friend to him, listen to him when he wants to talk and be there for him.
