Why am I not surprised???

Just got home from my sisters taekwondo class, and came home to admire my beautiful tank.... I added my gourami before I left, and he is looking through his new home, happily nibbling on my plants.... But anyways.... I looked at my center aquarium rock, and I see a small snail.... I new that buying live plants at petsmart would result in this happening.....Now I know what I have to do.... tomorrow I am going to buy a pair of clown loaches and set them in my quarantine tank so that way in a week or so I can set them loose in my 29 to a smorgesboard of snails.....I know they'll take care of it... one did in my ten gallon tank..worked like a charm... ate all the snails....

Now dont go off on me.. I know some snails can be benificial, but I dont want a single one in my tank.. they are discusting... and my pleco and and eventual otto catfish will keep my tank sparkeling clean....that and they are a bed for disease......

Gr... all this hard work and now I get snails... POS.....

One question...er.. well two: Has anyone had experience with a Dwarf Gourami eating plants?? I dont want him to eat up all my plants... I've got over 20 dollars invested in them and I dont want him to eat them....if he will his butt will be back in the ten gallon....Oh, and about java firn... the leaves have what look like new leaves growing on them.. I've heard you can cut those off and replant and it will grow... how big must they be before I can do that??? Any experiences???????

Sorry for the book,.. but I am ranting and asking at the same time... a deadly mix.. haha... but this is a good place to do it... everyone knows valuabale info!!!!!

if you buy live plants, there a 99% chance of getting snails.

your dwarf gourami should not eat the plants, but the (some type)snails will eats your plants.
java fern is very easy to grow. i just break a pick off and weight it down and it grow. some say not to bury it in the sand.

The little plants will just float off when they are ready to go.

most snails only eat sick or decaying leaves. the dwarf gourami will not touch plants. i only had 100$ of plants before then, and he would not touch them

Yes, Gouramis love to dig out plants to build bubble nests. Also Replanting plants does cose more to grow.
