Post cycling question

My tank finished cycling last night and I was wondering if I can just take my shrimp out which are producing ammonia for a day until I get my fish tomorow. I wouldn't think my bacteria would die out in a day, is this correct?

Hey Zack.....
I would have to agree with you on this one. The bacteria shouldn't die without a source of ammonia in one day. As a matter of fact, they should be good up to a week. You won't see ammonia from the fish, as there is already bacteria to eat it, but it won't be produced for a few days....took my fish about 4 just to get .25ppm in my 29 gallon... have fun =]
