when at petsmart, i didnt buy much, just fluorite, 2 golden wonder killies, and a peacock eel. i was looking at equipment, and they had a faucet hook up system that gets rid of chlorine, chloramines, ammonia, and other bad stuff. it replaces water conditioner. the price is right, 65$, and i was going to buy one but didnt know if i should trust it or not. does it sound okay?

are you referring to a tap water filter? sounds like you are. if it is, thast will be very expensive because you have to replace the filter material after every regeneration. you'd be better off with a reverse osmosis filtration system.

yep, its a tapwater filter.

if i have to change all the stuff in it, i'll forget it. Ive seen used RO systems here for cheap, so i'll take a look at them

The ones they have at the one near me are only good for 85 gallons then you need to change the filter - I had looked into them but I need to change about 75-80 gallons a week and 85 gallons of filter life wasnt going to cut it
