My Convict Cichlid lays in his side at the bottom of the tank. When I walk up to the tank or another fish comes by he will get up and swim but then usually return to the same position soon.
Does he have a serious problem or is he just copying my Clown Loaches and relaxing ? His coloring looks good and he is eating. This has gone on for about 2 months.

That is not normal behavior. How is your water quality ph etc?

I do weekly water changes and My PH is about 7.4 All of my other fish seem to be doing great.

i think ph is the least impportant parameter, how bout ammonia, nitrite, nitrate temperature. It could just be a swim bladder problem and if that is the case i dont think theres much you can do.
