Id this cichlid

I saw some cichlids at the lfs yesterday and have no idea what it is. It's black with small light blue dots all over. Anyone has any idea what type of cichlid this is?

...well no...that could be any of a number of fish...colouration in juveniles also varies from colouration in adults in many cases...can you post a picture?

I think they are adults. Unfortunately I don't have a camera so I can't take any pics. Because of their shape i'm pretty sure they are mbuna. I didn't even bother asking the lfs owner what type they are because he's always pretty much clueless about cichlids.

A picture would obviously help, but duboisi pops into mind.

I just looked up the Duboisi cichlid and fishguy you are correct.
The article said that that is their juvenile colour and they change when they mature.

Can you deal with their water parameter needs and their full size?

Yeah i could but I'm not buying them right now. Cichlid tank is in my future plans.
