i do about 25-50% water changes weekly and was wondering if the tap water is ok to use? i dechlorinate the water and all but just wanna make sure it is normally ok to use or if it would be better to use water from another source?

Tap water, as long as it is dechlorinated and close to same temp as aquarium water is fine.

Tap water is just fine. But you should use a complete water conditioner that takes out chlorine, chloramine and heavy metals. You should also test it for ammonia levels.

Tap water is more than fine, but as mentioned above, use a good water conditioner (Seachem's Prime is very good IMHO), make sure you add enough capfuls required (read the instructions on the bottle), make sure the water temp is close to what is in the tank.

Also, with the water conditioner, don't be worried about adding too much, it doesn't harm the fish.

Agreed with all of the above and just want to reiterate the importance of actually testing the tap water. You'd be amazed at what is in there sometimes.
