I'm pretty new to the hobby still, and got some bosemani from a breeder over the summer. He had some in his show tank that were huge and beautiful. About how long do they take to grow to full size, or nearly full size? The ones I have now are about an inch to an inch and a half. One is slightly larger (about two inches), and has much deeper coloration.
I'm fighting the urge to buy more fish because I know that they are supposed to grow to around 4 inches, but just curious how long that will take.

Thanks

I bought some 1"ers about 3months ago, they are all right around 2" in size now. They arnt quick growing fish as I was feeding them 4-5X per day with daily WCs. I suspect that most of the cost of Boes comes from getting them to the sizes sold in most LFS as from the growth rate mine have grown it is going to take them atleast a year to reach the 3-4" mark typically sold.

Ack! I've only been feeding once a day. Should i be feeding more often?

Mine are 3 - 3 1/2" at 3 years old. I don't anticapate them growing much more.

Yeah, feed growing fish atleast 2-3X per day. Some higher protein food may also help boost growth.

My Rainbows are growing nicely. I feed all fish 3 x the day with different varietys of fishfood.
