Wondering about the AC fish logo ....

Is that a grouper at the upper left corner of the forum? It appears to have a shell on the bottom of it -- a carapice -- is it a turtle? The face looks like a grouper. What exactly is it? Just curious ...

Yeah, I've wondered about that too.

No shell. It is just a grouper. That is how they look from that angle. What you see is the stomach beneath the mouth as well as the bottom of the tail finn beneath the stomach.

I've wondered about that as well. More along the lines of wondering what it has to do with aquariums. I don't think too many people in here have grouper in their aquariums.

Groupers are not that uncommon in SW aquariums.

Id love to see a HOME aquarium equipped to handle a goliath grouper. that would be a sight to see.

Yes it would be one hell of a tank.

But lets just pretend the one above is one of the smaller species instead.

One of my old bosses was a major jewfish addict, he had a 212# one stuffed on the wall outside of his office.
Either way they are a great fish and command attention.

I recall visiting the giant public aquariums at Sea World, San Diego, several years ago. There was this GIGANTIC grouper that hovered motionless near the glass where I was standing. I stared at it and it stared at me. We stared each other down, LOL! I recall thinking how UGLY that monster was! He probably thought I was ugly, too! Those were fun days ....
