Has anyone seen this stuff before? I think it's rather a jolly idea but it doesn't say if it's a wax or glue or what it is.

My only problem with BigAl's is the lack of explanation for any of their products. And yesterday I got their new catalog. NO PRICES. You get a price list and have to search everything. Annoying!

I'm getting some of this stuff my next order. Just gotta try it!

Its prolly an oily wax. What it does, is it messes with the refraction of the light at the glass, so instead of mostly bouncing back into the tank, it shines onto the background

You can get the same effect with pertroleum jelly, or vegetable oil

I guess but it just sound so messy. It would give me a use for my credit card tho. They are handy for taking out bubbles......especially when maxed out and you can't use them for anything else.

It's about freaking time! That is my main reason for hating those stupid backgrounds. One little spot drives me nuts. All it does it get it to stick to the glass. I tried the soap, water, and credit card method, but it didn't work 100%. All it does is seal the background to the glass, as long as the background is touching the glass it looks right and is visible when looking from the side of the tank and has an even look. It's when none or only part of the background is touching the glass that you can't see it from the sides and it has that blotchy look.

I just taped my black background to my tank. Looks good.

i used the vaseline trick on the backround and it worked, except that there are some bubbles between the glass and the backround. The credit card trick hopefully will help get rid of them
