My gourami is getting sick since 10 days ago. I am enclosing the photo here. Please give me advise how to treat it.
Many thanks!

looks like we've got some physical damage and fin rot. clean the water with a good 50% water change, add melafix and pimafix, and watch him. the fin rot bacteria cannot survive in clean water, and same with the physical damage bacteria, so the cleaner the water the better. good luck

Hi Cocoa_Pelco,
I appreciate your answer. I dont think it is physical demage. I guess it might be some kind of skin rot or parasite. I send more two pic for your review.
Thank you in advance for any suggestion.

I agree. I'd also add some salt to the tank as that also aids in the healing. He is really in poor shape and looks like another fish is biting at him. Could this be possible?

thats what i was thinking too. HITH is between the eyes, and thats more towards his top. did you see a puffy blister before you saw whats in the picture? what size tank and tankmates?

I bet there's a mating pair in the tank and going after this poor guy. He looks about beat to a pulp. Treatment should have been started much sooner. He may not recover. Please watch to see if he is being attacked. It may even be occuring at night.

my tank is 20g and just have a water pump without hearter. I have another gourami seems like loom same itch. I have 2 other breed red gouramis which you could find it in my previous pic and 5 neon tetras.

just be sure you dont have 2 male gouramis, they'll kill each other..

You said that your tank doesn't have a heater?

Gouramis need a heater b/c they are tropical fish

they need a heater, unless you live in arizona or california where without a heater the water can stay at 75F. only goldfish, white clouds, weather loaches, and buenos aires tetras are common coldwater fish

Thanks for your all. I took my miserable fish to petsmart today. Against the suggestion from fish staff I got some medicine and put in tank. I should change half water after 48 hours. The guy told me my gourami is getting fungus.
I am going to share with you what will happen later on.

Fungus appears as white, cottony patches. Your gourami's looked like it had open red sores.

It's good he died, however, as he was suffering.
